Watershed Protection

Watersheds – and our statewide system of streams, lakes, wetlands and lakes – are the lifeblood of our state’s water resources and we must protect them to ensure clean water for all New Yorkers.

At a time when we see so many rollbacks to the Clean Water Act at the federal level, EANY’s watershed work focuses on bolstering statewide protections for our wetlands, streams, rivers, lakes, and other source waters. We support land uses that promote healthier watersheds, and we focus on preventing the pollution of our watersheds from pesticides, road salt, and emerging contaminants.

Our partners in this work include grassroots and municipal watershed groups, other environmental organizations, local governments, and water departments.
