Travis Proulx Joins Environmental Advocates Of New York As Communications Director
Albany-based watchdog Environmental Advocates NY is pleased to announce that Travis Proulx, a former spokesman for the State Senate and Cuomo administration, has joined the group as its new Communications Director.
“Travis is a great addition to our office. His years of experience in the capital, working in both the legislative and executive branches, as well as his knowledge of state government, political campaigns, and statewide media, are huge assets to our organization and the state’s broader environmental community,” said Rob Moore, Executive Director of Environmental Advocates.
Proulx said, “Environmental Advocates has a well-deserved reputation for not only advancing environmental protections, but also advocating visionary policies that benefit all New Yorkers. I’m excited to join the team at such an important time for our state’s environment, with big decisions looming on issues such as fracking.”
Since 2006, Proulx has worked in a variety of strategic communications positions in Albany. Immediately prior to joining Environmental Advocates, he worked for the Cuomo administration as Director of Communications and Public Affairs for the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, where he was the chief messaging strategist and spokesperson for one of the state’s largest agencies. Prior to that, Proulx served as Deputy Press Secretary for the State Senate, as well as Director of Communications for Senator Liz Krueger.
Proulx has provided communications support for several political campaigns, including successful races for Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Darrel Aubertine, and Bill Stachowski.
