Albany, NYPeter Iwanowicz, Executive Director of Environmental Advocates NY, released the following statement today in response to Governor Cuomo’s State of the State:

“It’s good to see Governor Cuomo support policies that will increase our clean energy and reduce New York’s greenhouse gas pollution. But if the Governor wants to be a real national leader on climate policy in the era of Trump, he must do more to advance a true climate action plan. Governor Cuomo must take bolder action to fight the climate change denialism in Trump’s White House that threatens the well-being of New Yorkers across the state. We assume that his budget proposal will contain more robust state investments in mass transit and other areas of infrastructure, and actions to address the largest source of climate pollution in the state—cars and trucks – that can help reduce pollution while strengthening the public health of New Yorkers.”
