Today, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced an indefinite delay of the congestion pricing plan that was set to launch in Manhattan at the end of the month. The following statement can be attributed to Vanessa Fajans-Turner, Executive Director of Environmental Advocates NY.

“Governor Hochul’s indefinite delay of congestion pricing is unacceptable and detrimental to the health of New Yorkers. This postponement allows pollution-heavy vehicles to continue degrading our air quality and jeopardizing public health. Congestion pricing is essential for expanding mass transit and protecting our environment. We must challenge this decision and push for immediate action, as the well-being of our city and its residents cannot be put on hold.”
