Statement from New York Water Rangers re: Siena Poll Fracking Opposition

“When it comes to fracking in New York, the more people know the more concerns they have.

Today’s Siena poll shows opposition statewide (45-37%). But even more importantly, data indicates that the people who would be impacted by fracking – residents Upstate – have done their research and concluded (52-34%) there are too many unanswered questions and dangers to their quality of life.

Governor Cuomo’s cautious approach is the right one. Unless and until the science is complete and able to alleviate Upstate’s many concerns, fracking cannot be an option in New York State.”
