For Immediate Release: July 24, 2020
This week the New York State Legislature passed a number of important environmental bills that now await action by the Governor.
The following statement can be attributed to Peter Iwanowicz, Executive Director of Environmental Advocates NY:
“This was a very productive ‘pop-up session’ with the Legislature again showing its commitment to our environment by passing key bills that will protect New York’s water and health. We urge Governor Cuomo to not delay in signing these bills into law. We also call on the Legislature and Governor to come back soon and adopt a bold plan that makes polluters pay for the climate crisis they’ve caused and provide desperately needed funds to frontline communities who’ve been most impacted by a changing climate.”
