Albany – The New York State Legislature has passed A.8349/S.5612-A , which adds class C streams to the list of those included under the Protection of Waters Regulatory Program within the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
The following statement is attributable to Rob Hayes, clean water associate at Environmental Advocates NY:
“Once again, New York has stood up to the Trump administration. While the federal government rolls back clean water protections left and right, this legislation bolsters protections for thousands of miles of streams that filter pollution and protect against flooding. We thank Senator Harckham and Assemblymember Ryan for championing this critical legislation, and look forward to Governor Cuomo signing it into law.”
