New York State Adopts Final Rules to Phase Out Dirty Coal-Fired Power Plants

Albany — Today, New York State adopted regulations that will lead to the phase-out of coal-burning power plants. The following can be attributed to Conor Bambrick, Air & Energy Director for Environmental Advocates NY.

“The regulations New York adopted means that the state will soon be free from coal-fired power plants and the pollution they spew. And good riddance. Burning coal has no place in a clean and healthy future, and soon burning coal will have no place in New York. Our lungs and our climate will be much better off because of this move.”
