Estate Planning
Join our Environmental Advocates NY Green Legacy Society: Over the past 50 years we have touched the lives of many people in New York State, who wish to leave a living legacy of clean water, clean air, and healthy communities. One way you can do this is by leaving a bequest or including us in your will which enrolls you in our Green Legacy Society.
You do not need to have a fortune to give a lasting gift to EANY. Planned gifts, both large and small, play a critical role in ensuring the future of Environmental Advocates NY. Any size gift can make a significant impact.
We hope you will consider including a gift to Environmental Advocates NY in your will or living trust. Called a charitable bequest, this type of gift offers these main benefits:
1: Simplicity. Just a few sentences in your will or trust are all that is needed. Share the sample bequest language for Environmental Advocates NY with your estate planning attorney:
I give and bequeath to Environmental Advocates NY, Tax ID# 22-2360736, the sum of $______ (or _______% of my estate, or ___% of the rest and remainder of my estate).
2: Flexibility. Because you are not actually making a gift until after your lifetime, you can change your mind at any time.
3: Versatility. You can structure the bequest to leave a specific amount of money, make the gift contingent on certain events, or leave a percentage of your estate to us.
4: Tax Relief. If your estate is subject to estate tax, your gift is entitled to an estate tax charitable deduction for the gift’s full value.
Environmental Advocates NY can also be named as beneficiary of your retirement plan or life insurance policy and will accept gifts of closely held stock, pending board approval.
