This winter has been particularly rough for many New York communities, leaving us feeling like spring is a long way off, even though it is right around the corner. As the season changes and we feel the renewed hope inherent in warmer weather and greener surroundings, it reminds us why protecting what we care about is so important.
Here at Environmental Advocates, we are gearing up for April with a lot of exciting Earth Month plans; stay tuned here and on our social media channels as we roll them out. Once again, we will be working with participating AVEDA salons across New York State to raise awareness on protecting clean water in our communities.
As AVEDA’s clean water partner, Environmental Advocates fights to protect what we all love in our communities — family, friends and natural resources — and create a voice for all New Yorkers on protecting clean drinking water, keeping pollutants out of our waterways and fighting against toxics in children’s products.
Over the past six years, our partnership with AVEDA has raised more than $120,000 for clean water efforts. Efforts that mean legislators at all levels of government hear from you on clean water issues impacting your community.
Our water policy expert, Elizabeth Moran, recently outlined why the voice for clean water in New York needs to remain strong. It is clear that our elected leaders need to upgrade our state’s aging drinking water and sewage infrastructure to protect our communities and public health.
Find out more about our water work on our policy page and visit our AVEDA page to find a participating salon near you. We are already hearing from so many salons planning fun and exciting events to celebrate Earth Month -- like trü salon’s event at the Planet Bowl in Rochester, which is a can’t miss for the whole family!
As your state and local water partner, Environmental Advocates is grateful for your support not just during Aveda Earth Month, but all year long. Plan to attend an AVEDA event in your area during April that supports Environmental Advocates today! Together, let’s keep protecting water in our communities!
